Position Description

 

POSITION TITLE:           Maintenance

 

FLSA:                              Non-exempt

 

QUALIFICATIONS:                         

 

REPORTS TO:  Maintenance Supervisor. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Trouble Shooting mentality
  2. Helping maintain grounds (picking up trash, weed eating, cleaning leaves and cutting back trees)
  3. Carpentry knowledge, door hardware experience
  4. Using power tools and hand tools (Drills, Saws, Wrenches, etc.)
  5. Maintenance on A/C's (replacing filters, cleaning condenser units, unclogging drain lines)
  6. Perform ongoing tasks such as replacing light bulbs (climb ladders up to a height of 16 feet), filling dispensers, and setting up facilities for student and adult use (lifting furniture, boxes, and cafeteria tables-minimum of 55 lbs.).
  7. Make minor building repairs and promptly report major repairs needed to the Maintenance Director.
  8. Work overtime and on weekends as necessary to meet District events and facility schedules.
  9. Must be able to go up and down stairs frequently, as well as regular bending and standing as needed in a daily shift.
  10. Assist in major clean-up in summer such as washing desks and chairs, washing down walls, stripping and waxing floors, etc.
  11. May be required to work night shift.
  12. Willing to do custodial work when needed, cleaning up jobsites or helping cover an area.

 

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Maintain a professional relationship with students, faculty, administration and community patrons.
  2. Submit all data and information as requested.
  3. Attend meetings as scheduled by supervisors and District Administrators.
  4. Complete requested paperwork.  Clock in and out daily on time clock.
